A young black experienced guy like Mason is an excellent hire. He is extremely well liked here, very sharp, and just can’t get players to compete year in & out at Vandy. He is a very good hire.

I think we need more of an attacking style DC. If our guys have to read and react they aren't as good as they could be. They aren't built like a Stanford d that relies on smarts to hold you down. Our d is filled with athletes.

He’s 51. Not old but I wouldn’t exactly refer to him as young.
