Yea I'll come across as a homer but WTF? Don't come with the QB excuses either, guarantee other DefChamp lost players like the Tigers

It is interesting. I find it funny that an issue for LSU does not seem to be an issue for other teams. USC and others can have new players at key positions and it's not a problem. LSU was questioned last year because we had a "new" QB in Matt Flynn. We wound up winning the NC.

No they don't but as a point of comparison- Texas & VY won in 05- VY left, Texas ranked 3rd in pre-season...and I think VY had more to do with Texas winning than MF did, just saying
But maybe it's a SEC thing, FL wins in 06, preseason rank #6 last year, they lost Leak but had lil timmy behind him

I personally want us to be ranked in the 8-12 range. I want the Tigers to feel un-respected by everyone but its leaders. I love hungry and angry Tigers.

With our schedule, lack of experience at QB and CB, I don't have a problem with our ranking. Don't forget we are the only defending NC coming off of a 2 loss season. If we lose one more game than last year due to the inexperience at those positions, that ranking seems fine.

I don't think "ESPN, et. al." hate us but I will never forget an article I saw a few years ago. I think it was on CNNSI or maybe Sportsline.
The writer mentioned Perrilloux still being on the bench as evidence of how overrated he was. In the very same article, he mentioned Mark Sanchez still riding the pine at USC as evidnce of how much talent was on the SC team.
Again, I don't think the media hates us. I do think that the continuous on air promotion of some larger market teams effects perception, and eventually rankings.
