French Leave is nice.

Honestly though, Eleuthera is a place to go to get away from 'resorts'. It is a place to unplug from ordinary daily life and truly enjoy the act of exploring.

South end of the Island -- Lighthouse beach, and The Island School (Cape Eleuthera Foundation) are really cool places to visit.

North end -- Spanish Wells is a cool little island to explore and have some good food and meet some true original 'characters' of island living.

Everywhere in between has coves, bays, beaches and towns that are worth a once over. Rent a car, and if you see someone looking to hitch a ride, stop and pick them up. You'll come home with some good stories, guaranteed.

This is disturbing and sad. They will destroy the very thing that makes this place special. I hope their recent financial struggles makes them scrap the idea.

It does make me want to vomit a little. Eluthera and Exuma are both (or either) places on my bucket list as they have some of the most gorgeous and untouched beaches in the world. I've done a reasonable amount of research on travelling there. Thinking of it as a cruise port...
