No buyouts, O sinks or swims with his hires

I know everyone wants Pelini, E, and Linehan gone, but that’s precisely the wrong move if you are Woodward and only digs the hole deeper by allowing the HC to make more hires for more money.
Woodward should turn off the tap. No buyouts.
O built this staff, so it’s his to sink or swim with.
Throwing millions at bad hires just to let him make more only digs the hole deeper and makes it harder to ultimately move on from O if that needs to happen.
You can’t have a HC that has no responsibility other than hiring staff and then just keep letting the blame fall on the hires while he avoids blame.
You want the 2020 excuses, ok fine. The coordinators get a mulligan too and let’s see how they all measure up together next year.
Back to NY6 or move on completely, one team one heartbeat

Some of us would allow budgetary malfeasance to save our program going up in flames any more than it has. This doesn’t discredit the awful hires and should be seen as a huge red flag for the sitting coach, but the program is bigger than him.

Yeah, let’s cut off any momentum this program stil has from 2019 and ensure the next hc has to completely start from scratch!

You don't get it. Everyone is subpar except O. Replace the coordinators, four or five position coaches, the strength guru, and half of the shadow staff and everything will be fine.

I don't think LSU has the money for buyouts.
Plus, new coaches = new system and 2 to 3 year learning curve. Pelini will have these guys clicking in a year or 2.

There is no money to pay buyouts. LSU is hemorrhaging money as is every other program. 2021 may very well be more of the same.
The problem at LSU is culture much more than it is coaching.

Were going to pay the money one way or another. I don’t think it has to be a lump sum.
E may retire which would save us money.
I can make new hires but don’t give him the busget he has thisnyear. We need to identify younger coaches who will take a 1.1-1.2 million dollar contract.

How many other programs suffered from support? It happened all over the country. Saban & Smart didnt skip a beat after they showed their support.
