Terrace Marshall Hate

I am seeing a lot of people hating on Terrace Marshall. Not necessarily on here but on other social media outlets. These are my thoughts...
They are not playing for a championship. He really has nothing to gain by playing but everything to lose. He has already proven that he is a first round caliber player and the only thing that would really change that is playing some meaningless games and getting hurt. I know we hate to lose to Bama but we are going to get smashed regardless and it really is meaningless. If anything he is stepping aside and letting some younger guys get reps. I am sure if we were in contention for a championship then he would have kept playing.
People get really mad at college players for leaving but it is in their best interest some times. Lsu isn’t going to give him a few million dollars to stay and play a few games and if he gets hurt it could cost him that. I mean really think about it if you were in his situation. He isn’t quitting on the team he is doing what is best for him and you got to respect that. If you had a job offer to make more money then you take it. Same concept in football except you are probably talking a lot more money and less of a time frame to be able to achieve that.
He doesn’t get paid to play college football. Yeah he gets his school tuition paid for but if you add up his practice, film, workout, and game time then he is severely under paid.

That's better than not showing any heart like some of the guys and coaches on this team...

Have you ever quit a job to go make more money?
This is these guy’s careers. It is a business decision. We should be happy that he stuck with us for as long as he did. He could have opted out before the season and probably still been a second rounder

If we had a good qb I think he would have stuck it out and padded his stats. Without a good qb his opportunities are limited. I think he's a second round guy but will play like a first round guy. The greedy part of me wants him to go to the saints at the end of the first round

Then that is what he should have done. Not quit a week after giving a speech to the team about how he could have opted out but decided to stay and fight.

When I see these kids make decisions I don’t discount the family needs they face. Kid has an opportunity to change his family’s life for generations to come. To them it’s material, it’s life. To us it’s just a game that we watch and get upset if our best players aren’t playing. I’m not going to get upset or fault another man for doing what he needs to take care of his family...only an irrational person would. He takes one hit and all that goes away for the young man and we will love him for an eternity...great...but that doesn’t put food on his table nor his families table so y’all need to chill.

They quit LSU yes. For money. Some understand it. Some don’t. It is what it is. I just know,
My family > LSU. Maybe he feels the same way.

Yea and I didn’t expect everyone to kiss my arse and wish me luck on the way out. I don’t care about Terrace Marshall or his future career any more than he cares about LSU’s success this season.
Not sure why so many people on this board are so adamant on obsessively thanking these kids for the “sacrifice” of going to your college for free, eating great food for free, getting paid a ton of money under the table, getting access to a ton of girls, building a personal brand for free on LSU’s dime, getting a ton of free media exposure, and generally living the dream for 2.75 to 4 years en route to getting paid a ton of money to play a children’s game.

This is well said

To go from calling a team meeting from a position of leadership to leaving the team in two weeks is very suspicious
I would not be surprised to hear later on that an agent got to him or his family

This, like many other conversations here, is very tired. Marshall can do what the frick he wants to do and I will still somehow get out of bed tomorrow, earn my wages and take in nourishment.
This topic gets recycled every time a kid leaves after his Jr. year. People called D White a quitter. Can you imagine the sadness in your heart that makes you call a 21 yr old kid who was one of the best to ever play here a loser? He's a kid with a very bright future. I would bail out as well then come here and post about it just to watch the melt.

You don’t have to thank him but I don’t think people should bash him for his decision. All of this is pennies for the amount of work these guys put in to the program. He has earned whatever he got from college and now he is going set up his family

Were you instrumental in leading your organization to the pinnacle of its industry before you quit? If so, they probably should have at least told you thanks and good luck.
