Coach O has successfully recruited kids back to school, and has spoken publicly about it. LSU under him hasn’t many many issues with the fringey guys leaving.

Besides, deep down that is every schools’ goal. You don’t win without 3 year players.

You don’t think nick Saban goes into a kids home & sells them on the ability to play in the nfl? That’s what the kids want.

He did get Shelvin, Vincent and Stevens back but Covid fricked that up.

With Bama and Saban, it’s process over results. He hammers it home in every interview. Yes, he has the rings and the track record of getting guys into the pros and I’m sure he sells that, but he has also created a culture that helps keep players invested in their own improvement before leaving. They are more apt to come back to improve their draft stock at Bama because of how the entire program is structured and how they are taught (or indoctrinated) from the moment they step on campus.

The entire system is designed to make the players want to stay until they are high 1st round locks and that works almost without fail. And it’s so effective that even some sure fire guys stay when they don’t have to. It’s sports psychology at its finest.

I think Nick sells kids on staying in school regardless of whether it’s the “right” move. It may not be completely honest but it benefits their program.
