This one is high on my list too. I’d go with the Rigby.
I’m actually having a bespoke double rifle built now. I can’t come off with the $100K+ needed for an English one. There are high quality alternatives available nowadays which are far less expensive (relatively speaking).
Mine will be a Heym 89B in 450/400 NE. Should have it in a few months. Been a pretty cool experience. From the shooting range to determine which cartridge and gun weight/profile you handle best to measuring hand width, finger length, arm length, etc. You even get to choose the lumber for the stock.
It’s an indulgence for sure; but, I’ll hopefully be hunting Cape Buffalo next year and just can’t imagine doing it with anything other than a double. All those years ago reading Petersens or Sports Afield it just feels right.
