I know Sonny is the guy to go to for up to date info, but which service has the best rankings?

I rather Rivals more than Scout.

But there is more disparity between the rankings this year than I can ever remember.

Other's strongly favor scout.

Rivals was the industry leader by a longshot until recently. Scout has made up much ground. The main thing separating the two now - is that Rivals has all the bells and whistles with it's format and Scout is still lagging behind with that technology.

It doesn't help Rivals for TigerBait to have ranked Montrell Conner No. 30 in the state. I'm not done bringing it up yet b/c it's such a huge mistake that it's embarrassing as hell for the Rivals head honchos.

J.C. Shurburtt, former SE Analyst for Rivals, scolded me once by telling me that TigerBait had the best Louisiana rankings out there period. That's a joke.

Rivals has a much better look-and-feel, and that tends to give people an exaggerated opinion of its ranking quality.

Scout does a much better job of evaluating the talent, shittiness of web site be damned.

Where does ESPN fall? I know they are a lot newer to the recruiting scene, but they have the resources to catch up FAST.

For example how serious do I take ESPN putting Connor as like the #6 back in the country?

That should answer your question.

So where would you put Connor? You say Rivals has him to low I think, but ESPN to high. Where do you think he would fall at?

Scout has him No. 31

Rivals has him at No. 19 (Athlete)

ESPN at No. 6

I like the Rivals ranking the best and I think you could put him around No. 19 at RB too and it would be pretty accurate.

ESPN needs to take this off Conner's page

Connor isn't the first guy ESPN has gone wildly different from the other services.

Sometimes I wonder if they do it just to call attention to themselves.

And just to add. Conner is an unusual RB prospect due to his size. He's not as polished a runner as some of the other blue-chips, but if you look at Scout, only two RBs in the top 30 (ahead of Conner) are as tall as him.

Once he gets better technique, that height will be a plus and that should weigh in his favor over some of the smaller backs.

Well, different analysts fall in love with different players...hence, Rivals and Lamin Barrow.

Conner is the next Adrian Peterson. He should be top 10

I like Scout's service better than Rivals, but I like Rivals rankings more. I think only the top 25 in the country should get 5* - not the top 50 like Scout does it.

I think its only a matter of time before ESPN puts a Monopoly on recruiting too. Once they feel it generates enough revenue they will start pouring money into it. They will have the best layouts, the best articles, the best reporters. There is alot money can buy. But for now, they are well behind the times. They do a fairly decent job in player evaluation summaries, but their rankings are way off for some. For now Scout and Rivals dominate, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Not going to happen. They may become the leader one day but Rivals and Scout are here to stay.
