I believe he had a career winning percentage of over .700 as a head coach. Super Bowl win and multiple AFC Championship game appearances.

You’re an idiot.

I grew up with the Summerall Tom Brookshire duo, but both teams could make say a Big Red vs Lions seem important You don’t get that anymore.

And I’m glad they were still around when St. Louis football became good.

My favorite Thanksgiving Day game was Randy Moss rookie game against Dallas. I had him in fantasy that year. Everyone else was pulling for Dallas, and I couldn't contain myself when he scored.

Ate lunch at the same Cowboys media lounge table with Madden and Summerall a couple of times. He was the same way he is on broadcasts. Everyone came by to talk with him. He'd just ramble about whatever subject was brought up. Just a fun guy. He really wore blue jeans, and tennis shoes with no laces, with his coat & tie.. Bet he was great to play for.

I have a Rams DVD collection of the 1999 Super Bowl run. Madden and Summerall were there for both home playoff games. I'm thankful I got to hear them at the peak of my NFL fandom when my favorite team was directly involved. Too bad FOX didn't have rights to the Super Bowl that year. What an even more magical moment that would have been to hear the finish of that classic.
