My question is why even test if your symptoms are mild as you seem to suggest, just lost sense of taste and smell? Just curious? I would not run get a flu test....

Main reason for us is my wife woke up feeling bad Saturday so with thanksgiving coming we wanted to see what’s up before family came over. With me, I figured if I was positive as well we wouldn’t have to keep the wife locked in the back of the house for 10 days.

We had a family member stay with us one night and a few days later she tested positive. My symptoms were bad enough to figure i had covid but I had had way worse flus and sinus infections. Headaches every day was the worst part of it. Then one day I had the covid gut and was nauseated all day. Threw up. My wife had worse symptoms. All of mine with fever and body aches.

We decided to get tested bc we have a 4 month old (tested positive) and we were going to Thanksgiving with her family and her grandmother would be there. So here we are doing Thanksgiving with just our family. We didn't test our other 2 kids. Just figured they had it. But they've been bouncing off the f'ing walls the whole time. The 4 month old has been pretty fussy and has had a cough.

Why I got tested was easy. Wife is a healthcare worker and had to get tested so they could let patients know. My son (tested negative, I wanted to know if he had it) and I tested because my Dad had heart bypass surgery last summer and we had a family Thanksgiving planned that we canceled.

I'm real glad I got tested and didn't give it to him.
