was more prone to choking. i think what phelps is doing is absolutely remarkable and will go down as one of the greatest athletic accomplishments of all time. i just wish we could see what this guy was really made of.

it is, a lot of swimmers choke.....just not him.

The french choked, Katie Hoff has not done well, Lezak has choked in the past, the womens' 100meter free world record holder just choked in an epic way when she failed to qualify for the finals....then she got lucky when they dq'd the chinese girl so she snuck in.

he choked. He tightened up the last 15 meters, shortened his stroke, and had a horrible reach for the wall. he blew it.....Lezak's amazing race and the pressure he put on made him choke.

no it is not. if you are the best swimmer or the fastest runner, you are more than likely goin to win the race.

if you are the best at any sport, you are more than likely going to win.....but not always.

i gsve you examples of people choking in swimming, and you still say they don't choke. You obviously have your mind made up. Also, when you swim such a wide range of events like Phelps it ups the odds that you will blow one of these races.

not saying swimmers dont choke ever just saying in some sports it is easeir to choke. swimming and track are two sports where athletes normally dont choke. if they are faster they usually win. there are not too many variables.
