What the hell is an uncommitable offer?

That sounds retarded. I don't get it.
I dont follow recruiting a ton but I've never heard of that before this year.

you recieve an offer, but you cant commit unless its on our terms. based on other players we are after, number of schollies for a particular position, position you agree to play, if they dont add up, we dont accept your committment. you have an offer, but its not the overriding factor

its stupid because most people will be like frick that, and commit to someone else

Who has one right now from LSU?

studs dont get a CO. we take them and run. randle, davenport, macfarland, mingo type players have spots saved, its the middle tier players who got in late(michael) who will probably end up a victim of our lack of schollies
christine michael is a great player, but right now, it just seems the coaches want trent richardson bad enough to lose c-mike as collateral damage. sucks, but its the way it goes: cant get em all

If they knew it they would be like that....the thing is the coaches don't always tell them they are not top priority. That's when you get situations like the DL that tried to commit to us last year and also Montrell Conner this year.
It's a fine line you have to walk with coaches...you have to tell a kid he has an offer, or at least "we want you to be a TIGER" so they will remain interested in you all year. But you also don't want to have your 4th best rated player at a position commit to you when you still have a good chance with #s 1, 2, and 3.
So you have to walk the line and give offers to kids you think need to have them to stay interested, if you think they aren't likely to commit on the spot. If you think they are likely to commit on the spot, you tell them we like you, but need to see more film/game/practice/camp etc.

It's also about where the coaches have certain RBs on the board. It's obvious they have Ford and Pratt high with accepting their commmits. It's probably Richardson or bust at the RB with those two on board. Coaching staffs are going to rank players on their board different from how Rivals or Scout will see it and this is probably the case here. Not saying CM isn't a great back (he is) and LSU would be lucky to take him but he is lost in the flow at RB and LSU has other needs and players at different positions in a limited class this year.

it's pretty much what montrell connors and tahj jones had, im guessing

An offer is extended, but there are players on the board at the position (and other positions, e.g., players overall on the coaches' board) that are higher. And the coaches are waiting to see what will happen with those players. If enough players commit to other schools, then the kid might have an actual spot. If not, then he is left waiting while the train departs.

I guess it is a good position to be in for LSU as a football program...IMO it is bullshite.

Every school does it. Not just the top schools. Each school probably sends out 100 or so offers, but you can typically only take ~25. You have options 1, 2 and 3 (etc)...you start with your top ranked guy on your board and go down from there if needed.

Les and Bradly Dale are holding a spot for Tahj Jones. They regard him very highly, enough so that he is ranked #1 LB on their board in LA and #2 over all. That is straight from the horses mouth.Bradley Dale was a regular fixture in Sulphur over the summer when it was allowed. He needed to get some class work done that is now in order. He is just waiting for ACT score. He has offers from ARK,OLE MISS,S. MISS and recently TA&M AND FLORIDA jumped in.He's been LSU solid but FLORIDA caught his attention.

I see your point, but with 100 offers, you know that only 25-40% have a high interest in the prospective school. If a kid commits to an offer it should be accepted. I also think a kid should be solid to the commitment he makes...it works both ways

If you've ever been through recruiting you know how it works. I got a "conditional" offer from a IAA school back in high school. It's just the way things go. Better to do it that way, than have a kid actually commit, someone much higher on your board then wants to come...and you have to tell the committed kid his offer is pulled because someone better wants to come.

I know how it works...I've been there...I just don't agree with it...even if it was Arky in this position

Not sure I totally get the drift here. Michael is a great prospect, IMO as good as TR. If you have a five star wanting to commit, you have to go for it.
