Davis is best Saints LB since Dome Patrol.
Mark Fields in his prime was better than Vilma was with Saints. Davis considerably better than Fields.

Davis is definitely the better athlete (Vilma was trending down by 2009), but Vilma just had a knack for knowing what was coming and moving people around

Fields was a better athlete than Vilma, but Vilma was the better linebacker. There's no way Fields runs the defense in Williams's scheme like Vilma did.
I think the same is true comparing Davis and Vilma, but man it's close.
