My daughter is off at college. 2 of her roommates have tested positive on Thursday. The first had symptoms Monday and the other Wednesday.

My daughter tested negative yesterday and will get tested again tomorrow.

My wife and I disagree whether she should come home. Wife, no pics, has a heart condition which leads to my decision to have my daughter quarantine at school for 10 days, while my wife wants her home for Thanksgiving.

I refuse to use CDC or any main media source for information. What say the savants of the Lounge?

Of course she shouldn’t come home.

If she's negative again and isn't showing any symptoms, let her come home. Especially if it's the wife who wants her home for thanksgiving, otherwise you'll have bigger issues

Regardless of the decision y’all choose to make, just be happy that you have a wife who is willing to live her life and not hide in a corner in fear like the media and politicians demand

I would have her stay for a few more days and test one more time early next week for your peace of mind. Three negative tests should be as certain as anything can be.

Remember, they could have been non-symptomatic and your daughter could have been exposed and you never would have known. Or your daughter may have already have had it asymptomatically.

The darn thing is such a wild card...it has to be a bio-weapon. Anyway, wife and I had it. I would error on the side of caution and have the best ever Christmas

If she comes home, I would just make sure she doesn’t get too close to y’all.

I get that. I’m healthy and so is my son. If we contracted it, we probably would be fine in a couple of days. The wife’s heart condition is what worries me.

Not hiding, but don’t want to be stupid either.

So you don't want to use the CDC....that has been, politics aside, the experts on this.

But want to trust people on here, many with no medical knowledge whatsoever except their medical degrees from BAW University?

I was around 3 people who tested positive on Monday and tested negative on Tuesday. Went through entire week feeling fine until I woke up Friday. Went to clinic and tested positive. It's a crap shoot.

At this point who cares, you should encourage your daughters roommates to visit as well

Seems like you haven’t read anything about the virus.

Hell no

This is awful advice. She can still be a spreader if she’s asymptomatic. Which I assume she is.

She should actually quarantine for 14 days from the last date of exposure to her positive roommates.

Because incubation period is 2-14 days. So the negative test yesterday just means she tested negative at that time. She could possibly not have developed enough of a viral load to test positive on a test yet. That's why testing without symptoms if you have been exposed isn't foolproof cause it can give you a false sense of security.

Use that information as you wish.

Her test came back negative so your assumption is wrong so far
