Lines for this game are weird. 3rd quarter total was 13.5. Thought that was the easiest bet I would ever make.

With out a doubt the most bizarre conference in college football.

I like the under. I don't think Akron can roll all night. I just took it live at under 98.5

How bout them Golden Flashes!! I have NEVER understood why Kent State was so bad at football? They're great at baseball and basketball, but have been in the cellar for what seems like forever. Kent State is a huge school, with a great campus, in the heart of NE Ohio and football country. They are a school, that with a little investment from the school (new on campus stadium would nice), could turn into a MAC power.

Kent State University:

35,883 Student Enrollment

Beautiful Campus

The problem is that their football stadium and facilities sit about a mile off campus in the middle of nowhere. Its old and has zero atmosphere. I have seen many high school stadiums that are better. Kent could use a new on campus stadium in the worst way!

Agree with this. They've had some decent players come through the program over the last 20 years (James Harrison, Josh Cribbs, Julian Edelman, Eugene Jarvis, Dri Archer, Roosevelt Nix) but the team was just not good.

Part of the problem is that Sean Lewis is the lowest paid coach in the conference, IIRC. They'll struggle to keep him after this season.

They definitely need a new stadium. I played a few HS games at Dix and it is just not great. It is also too far away for drunk students to walk to games. I'm not sure where they could put one on campus though. If they're going to replace Dix, it would probably have to be in the same location and they would probably have to play a season at Roosevelt HS or in Ravenna Stadium because I highly doubt Akron would let Kent play home games at Infocision. That would be embarrassing.

The town and the students would get behind a good football program. The excitement for the 2002 Elite Eight basketball team and the 2012 College World Series team showed that.

Look in the picture above, just south of the blue track where the intramural fields are...is a perfect spot. Plenty big enough. That would be right on campus right next to 20k students. Would help the Kent Football program tremendously. If Allen High School in TX can build a world class stadium for football, so can Kent State. If Akron, the team they smoked last night, can build a brand new stadium...so can Kent. Kent is investing hundreds of millions of dollars into new academic buildings and even more new student housing, why cant they plan for a new stadium? Again, that spot right on the southern edge of campus is PERFECT for a new stadium.

Not in the last 20 years, but Kent State actually has a pretty remarkable list of alumni and not just for football. Its quite amazing how many famous people are Kent State Alumni.

The problem is that most of the dorms on that campus are closer to the student center and most of the off campus housing is closer to downtown on all of those little roads off of 59. That's sort of the opposite direction from the stadium and I still think it'd be a bit too far for most of the drunk kids to walk to, which would be an issue there.

Ideally, you'd love to find space between Summit and 59 somewhere. Unfortunately, I don't know where that would be.
