If Coach O has to go...

Maybe this is the time to do it and make it quick. Urban is out there and most would agree that he would be an instant upgrade. LSU would be on the short list of jobs he would take too, I would assume.
Listen, don't get it twisted, I don't want Coach O to go anywhere...I like the guy and I support him. BUT, I am an LSU fan above all.
LSU administration problem? Football program problem? Compliance problem?
Regardless of who is to blame its a problem that is not likely to go anywhere especially now that it is gaining traction in the national media. It won't be long before the pressure is ratcheted up by sponsors etc. Blood is going to have to be spilled here. LSU is going to have to give some people up and if its got to be Coach O then so be it. Just don't drag this out forever only to end up letting him go at some point anyway.

You do realize that Urban went through similar crap in his final season, right?

Woodward and the admins aren’t going to make an irrational decision based off of some article.
Look at how they handled Will Wade. I’d expect the same backing for O

Who's paying the buyout on O's contract?

The pile on is just starting. This is going to get HOT, HOT, HOT!

If the investigation uncovers something there would cause O to be dismissed, he won’t be getting a buyout.

I hope that is the case but cheating and potential sexual assault are not exactly apples to apples. Just the mention of anything remotely related to sexual assault/abuse, true or not, is almost a death sentence....

He reported it to compliance and dismissed the kids in question from the team. What more do you want him to do??

Urban Myer wants NOTHING to do with Nick Saban. Saban has already made his arse quit once.

F King is the biggest culprit in this IMO. All of this falls under the president to make sure this shite doesn't happen.
What would Ed have had to do more than kick rapists off the team?
Also keep in mind that you are still Innocent until proven guilty.

I agree with you 100%. I don't think O did anything wrong here. From what I have read he followed the rules. Unfortunately, I think he is stuck in the middle of this and that article really trashed him. Perception is going to become reality for most of the nation outside of LSU. It sucks....

There is going to certainly be an investigation into all of this. We don’t know all the details so it’s hard to say if O survives or not? One thing we know is that there has been a lot of LSU’s kids sexually assaulting women and that’s something a coach must have a zero tolerance policy on. In the case of Parish, O suspended him for a year but how can you let that guy back on the team?

Definitely a valid point, but now he has apologized and realized the errors of his way? He is rehabilitated? America is a forgiving country. Huge Freeze says hi!

Based on what USA Today reported, it looks like the University fricked up. The Head Coach gets all of the attention rather than some no-name administrator, but Orgeron isn't obligated to conduct an investigation. As a university employee, he has a duty to report.
If the investigation uncovers something there would cause O to be dismissed, he won’t be getting a buyout.
It's not clear that he violated Title 9. The university, on the other hand, apparently failed to take action required by Title 9 on numerous occasions. It would be hard to make the case that a university that handled its Title 9 violations so poorly can fire an employee for cause under these circumstances.

O is in a precarious position, given the poor play, the allegations, and the huge budget shortfalls. I'd say the odds are no better than 50/50 he survives this.

Due process. Suspend him for the year and if he is convicted and charged with a crime you kick him off. He is "accused" of rape not charged so give the guy his day in court. If it all turned out to be true then you part ways. Memphis's problem now.
