quote:

Boston College's football team will pay tribute to an alum and hero from the September 11 attacks with "Red Bandana" helmets and uniforms this week against Notre Dame.

Welles Crowther was a 24-year-old New York equity trader who managed to save the lives of many people during the 9/11 attacks before he died. Crowther wore a red bandana to protect himself from the smoke on September 11 and was known for wearing it under his helmet while playing lacrosse for Boston College.

quote:

They didn't know his name. They didn't know where he came from, but they knew their lives had been saved by the man in the red bandana.

You mean Notre Dame can play this week? After last week, I thought the whole team would be dead.

Pretty fricking awesome.

Welles Crowther should have a movie about him. 1. Great LAX name. 2. I love That he carries a red bandana with him at all times. 3. Obviously most Importantly he’s a hero. Multiple trips. He’s not even a first responder. Incredible bravery.

I like how they do this yearly and keep the story out in front. It is needed, as many want to forget or act like it is diminished some 19 years later.
