Anyone have one of these, or has tried it? Worth it?

Yes, I have one.
I don't use it all that often, but it can really cook a nice turkey.

use it 3-4 times a year, 12-14 pound bird and 0$ in oil.

Have had one for about 5 years, used it 5 or 6 times. Does a great job on Turkey and the large pork tenderloins. That's all I've ever used it for. Not completely sure it's worth it for me, but I'm not the normal Turkey cooker, my mom or mother-in-law normally does it and it's alway only in the oven for both of them.

It'll do whole chickens pretty well too.
I need to try it with a pork loin, that would probably be pretty damn good.

I do chicken wings and they are good not great. Never actually got around to trying a turkey.

Cooks a mean bird. Spray the basket with Pam for easy clean up.

sounds like an oven to me.

I have had one for 4-5 years and love it.
I’ve done pork loin, whole chickens, pork roasts, etc.
Wings also turn out really good. I use one of the chicken leg accessories to make another level about mid way up so they cook faster. Makes the skin crispier too.

Anyone care to share the recipe and time or temp on a turkey in one of these things? Inject as if you were going to fry it?
Posted on 11/11/20 at 5:53 pm to 3TimeAllParish
Inject as if you are going to fry, rub down as if you are going to smoke... they get pretty hot so I plan on same timing as an oven, about 20 minutes per pound.

I've had one since 2009. I've cooked turkeys, chickens and standing rib roast and more....all turned out great. You cooked to temperature but my experience is about 10 mins. per lb. as a guideline. Their web site has a lot of good information.
Yes treat it just as you would frying with oil. Let us know how it comes out.

It's ok. I pretty much agree with the comments in this thread but ultimately I don't find it useful enough to justify it's space on my patio.
I put mine out to the curb last year.
One other thing that I really liked it for that I didn't see mentioned was baked potatoes. Wow, they were cooked to perfection.
I used mine primarily for Wings (did a few turkeys and chickens in it). But once I discovered I liked wings on the grill more than in the oil-less fryer it was the nail in the coffin for this gadget.

I inject and rub, refrigerate overnight. Cook with lid off until internal temp is 140-145 or so (somehow the lid makes the skin crisp up), put on lid until temp gets to 162-164. Pull. Will go up to 167-170 after you pull it.

Because it is an oven. You can't fry without oil.
As they say, you can put a cat in the oven but that don't make it a biscuit.
