Yes

Why didn't you get the mic that connects to the headphone?

Why? The mic out of my face is such a nice experience. I was just instinctually trying to avoid a mic that isn't even there just now putting a drink up to my mouth.

Those are very solid. Had those for awhile and then picked up these a couple years ago on sale and they are the best headphones I've had:

Audio-Technica ATH-M50X

They've had them for $100-120 on Black Fridays previously

The microphone off the headphones is so much more enjoyable

I’ve got those same headphones (Philips). Stealth 700s were my previous set. Tried using them again and it was hell.

Are you using an amp with them? If so, which one?

Ehhh I dunno. They appear to be extremely wide and can potentially take away some pin point for foot steps. Probably extremely good for single player. I enjoy my sennheiser hd58x for FPS gaming

Will using an amp make a noticable difference for gaming? I may look into getting one.

Well, I guess I don't need an amp then. I've never raised my volume over 70-75% on PS4. I thought maybe there was something else to it.

They're continually rated as one of the best sets of headphones for fps games

Those are up there as well. Almost grabbed a pair of them over my k701

Edit: for anyone looking budget headphones, the audio technica AD700 is also usually up there in the top rated headphones. They're under $100 on ebay. Just make sure you don't get the newer AD700x

Just got it. The V-MODA BoomPro right? The mic I posted in OP turned out to be shite with picking up cracking. Troubleshooting couldn’t fix. The mic worked well for like two days.

I’m not a fan of desktop mics for gaming as they pick up a ton of noise like keyboards.

Yes to the boom pro.
