Brennan situation makes things a lot more complicated!

I love Brennan and was really looking forward to him having a great season and moving on to the NFL. Well, things haven't quite worked out that way and the reality is he may not play another down for LSU this season or ever again.
Not saying I want him to move on because I don't, but the reality is he knows there are two young and talented players sitting behind him and a 5-star QB and another very talented QB joining the team next season.
Does he decide to return and battle for the starting job next season knowing nothing is guaranteed and the QB room will be filled with even more talent? Does he even want to come back and play behind an OL that hasn't been very good at all? Or does he transfer to another program where he knows he is going to be the main guy and can show off his skills? If he stays, how many QBs leave the program in search of greener pastures and do we lose any recruits as a result?
Early signing day is next month, so it's going to be interesting to see how everything plays out! It's 2020, so who knows what will happen. I guess we should be prepared for anything!

Pretty sure Brennan was playing two yrs regardless

Are you saying you thought Brennan would start this year and go pro? You need to lay off of the crack pipe. That was never an option and completely unfair to put those expectations on him.

I dont get why people ignore the fact that Brennan is a junior and this year doesnt count towards eligibility.

Just like Brennan did with Joe...Finley, Max, and Nuss will be best suited to learn under Brennan and the staff. Just like Joe, Brennan needs to come back with a chip on his shoulder. If anything, you may see Finley or Max slip out the door in the off-season...knowing that the other is next up, and we will have a line of 5 stars coming in.
I hope Brennan is able to get back on the field for 2-3 games this season, mainly to keep his confidence up going into the offseason.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Freshman (2017) - Played
Sophomore (2018) - Redshirt
Redshirt Sophomore (2019) - Played
Redshirt Junior (2020) - doesn't lose eligibility
This means he would have 2 years eligibility (2021 & 2022 seasons) left after this current season?
I personally hope he stays through the 2022 season.
A player with his determination, he could finish his degree and have that 2022 season as nothing but pure football like Joe.
I'm predicting 2022 to be pretty nasty. The current talented freshman class would be well experienced and OL/DL would be stout. Especially if we do well recruiting this 2021 class.

Dude he is the starter next year without question.
What have you seen from the 2 freshmen that makes you think one of them will start next year? TJs fool’s gold vs SC or Max’s few good plays against the last players on AUs bench?

He does have 2 years left. But, if he comes back for 2021 and 2022, we could have a log jam at QB - obviously not the worst case scenario, but still an issue. Ideally, you want Brennan to ball out next year and go pro, then let Finley or Max ball out for a year or 2 and go pro, then hand to Nuss for a year or 2 and go pro, then hand to Howard or Manning, and so on.

Well if Brennan is out the season that would give TJ or Max the final 5 games this season to improve so who knows what the look like by seasons end and by spring ball

Exactly...this is the best scenario for any team and their QBs. Ladder your QBs just like you do short term investments.

If it’s not already clear to you that Finley and Johnson aren’t ready, it will be soon enough.
Nuss won’t be either. We should hope Brennan stays as long as possible so we aren’t ever in the position of starting a freshman.

Are you high? Or just this stupid naturally?

Okay, yeah I get what you're saying. I agree Brennan could/likely will go pro after the 2021 season.
My thoughts were the same as you said, only the qb following would take over a year later.
It's a better qb problem than we've had in the past.

Jets in full tank for Myles mode

He is head and shoulders above the other quarterbacks, but yes they are very good quarterbacks. I think if he wasn’t hurt, he would have left. To the NFL draft in an early round if not a first round.

Women are complicated football is not.
He either gets the job done or somebody else will.

I think if Brennan had a great year he might have left for the NFL. He will be back next year and competition will be tight with the 4 QBs. The best player will start in 21. It will be fun to watch!

If Brennan had played a full season and continued to put up those stats, he would've been in the top 10 QB discussion at worst and top 5 at best. He would've been a 2-4 round draft pick, enough to consider moving on. But, that hasn't and will not happen now, unless he absolutely lights it up for 2-3 more games. I would like to see him light it up for 2-3 more games this season, then choose to stay with a 4-6 round grade...then light it up for a full season next year, then leave for a 1st or 2nd round grade.

Umm last time I checked we don’t have any 5 star qb coming in and we haven’t in a while. While they have talent and a high ceiling , no true freshman qb is a sure thing.
