2009's #1 receiving recruit v. 2009's #1 cornerback recruit. What are the chances these two get paired together and who do you guys think has an advantage?

I'm hoping this turns into a player rivalry over the next couple of years... with Peterson shutting him down, of course!

The thing that sucks for PP is he can shut JJ down 58/60 plays and still lose the battle. If those two times he gets beat are for touchdowns. That's what sucks about being a DB.

They were talking up some 2009 QB recruit they have out of Mobile on ESPN, for what that's worth.

Of course it's also good to have Chad Jones roaming around to help out if Peterson does get beat. If JJ goes over the middle he's going to pay for it.

Aj Mcarron. And he's gonna be better than Sarah jessica fwiw.
Plus they have Starr Jones for next year.

AJ will be VERY good. He needs to put on a good bit of weight first.

Starr Jones is a short term fix after JPW is gone, but he is not the type of QB bama needs to succeed.

AJ needs two years and after that he will be one of the top QBs in the SEC. Luckily by then, Julio will be a senior and only have a QB to throw to him that year (unless he leaves early for the NFL)

Yeah she's looking pretty good since her gastric bypass. How is her arm? Can she read a defense?

Our 3rd string CB Phelon Jones covered JJ in a HS game once and shut him down fwiw. That's just one game, but it's worth noting.

Im just curious why you say this because a lot of Bama fans say this too. I always thought Bama fans said it just based on race.

Star was the #5 pro style QB coming out and like the overall #130 player on Rivals. Hey went to Elite 11 and had a strong showing in the Army game. He's a throw first QB but he can run well if need be.

I've just heard a bunch of people saying AJ will beat out Star @ Bama and I'm wondering why.

Because on this board, this years recruit is always better than last years recruit. You didn't know that?

I'm assuming you meant to put AJ in there somewhere. But how so> AJ played for a very good team last year and they arent supposed to be as good this so we'll see how he does. Star played on a very bad HS team.

This has to be true because it is on the rant. LSU fans don't lie.

I will say this, and to be honest it is nothing that means anything in 2009 and on. But PP played against better competition than JJ. JJ always lined up against corners that were not top recruits. The few times that he did, he was shut down. Alonzo Lawrence shut him down in the MS/AL all star classic. Reggie Hunt(Auburn signee) shut him down in 10th grade. Phelon Jones shut him down in 11th grade. Prattville had a 5'6" kid shut him down two years in a row. A lot of that had to do with the scheme tho. It is no secret that JJ has trouble with physical athletic corners.
