My sewage bill was pretty high this month and I’m wondering how much everyone else is paying?

In NOLA we pay water, sewerage and trash collection on the same bill.
Mine is around $75 a month.

In BR water, sewage and trash are all on one bill. Looks like my sewage was $61. Damn, that is higher than I thought. I guess I never really looked at it broken down.
Total bill was $98. $13 water, $61 sewer, $23 trash. It's usually around $85.

Zero, have a treatment system.
Your sewage is charged by your water usage. You might have a water leak if your bill is a lot higher then the norm.

I’m on the west side. Do I call a plumber or the city?

I would call them first to make sure there isn’t a billing error
I’ve never had to deal with anything like that so I’m not sure if it’s better to have a 2nd opinion by a plumber
I’m sure the city will try to put any work on you

Take a walk around your yard and look for a wet spot. You have a leak somewhere. Plumber is in your future. The city will not fix anything pass the meter.

120-130 a month in Nola.
No idea how you are only paying $75. You got them low flow shower head and terlets?

This unless you have a couple pass month bills around. Another way, just go check your meter. Lift the cover, you will see a brass cap that is about 3" across, flip that open. Look at the meter and you will see a little dial above the numbers. When water is running, that dial will be spinning. If you are not using any water inside and seeing that dial spinning, you have a leak.
