Pelini is here for atleast this season, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. But if the defense hasn't shown significant improvement by the end of the season you can't go into next season with him. He's got 7 games to make it right

Statements like these make me wonder how many football fans actually understand the game of football. He will get all of the way through next year. Just how it is. Enjoy watching the steady improvements

First you need the right players, which takes recruiting them.2nd,u need time to learn the defense which usually takes at least a year or more.3rd, it takes patiense

If it takes more than a full season to install a defense in college you're a failure as a college coach. You have these guys for 3-5 years and usually 2 years as actual starters. Taking 2 years to install a defense is mathematically a failure by default in college.

Yeah...this isn't true. It's incredibly easy to read between the lines and see that boosters have already started looking into ways to buy him out after this season if it comes to that. Pretty much every person you would trust with "inside" news about LSU has alluded to it.

Literally his defenses can't get any worse. They can only get better. I predict that there will be steady improvement though will be marginal due to the caliber of teams coming up. The argument to keep him will be strong enough to keep his job through 2021.

Nobody is claiming Bo can’t coach defense, or at least that he couldn’t coach it in his prime.

What remains to be seen is if he can adapt to modern offenses. This isn’t 2007.

The game has changed a lot since 2005-2007.

Pelini's numbers in his 2005 tenure will not show up his weakness. Back then most SEC teams were not passing teams which is where his weakness lies. FL was about the only one. He also does not adjust well at half time.

Now we have many more passing teams and QBs.
