Anyone here had any shoulder surgery ?

Had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder yesterday to repair a near completely torn labrum. Looking for tips and other peoples recovery time.
I'm also using pillows to lay down at a incline. Curious how should I keep my arm adjusted. Feels like constant tension on the shoulder no matter how I lay.
Thanks

Had partial rotator cuff repair end of May. Sling helped out tremendously.

Had a torn labrum and they scoped it. Took me about 6 months to get back to where I was before the surgery. Physical therapy sucked but absolutely essential to get mobility back. If you’re on pain meds, don’t forget to take stool softener or you will be In a world of hurt in a few days

That surgery is no joke. Never had it just taken care of people post. 6 weeks to not hurt. 6 months to be normal was mentioned here already and is the gist of what I get from the people I see.

I'm following this thread. No surgery lined up yet but it's in my future. The orthopedic doctor said I'd be in recovery 4-6 weeks if partial, 2+ months if fully torn, and maybe a year until I feel 100% again.sseing you all talk about it helps me understand more of what to expect.

i had surgery 2 weeks ago for torn rot cuff. currently in sling with 4 more weeks in it. been doing therapy 2 times per day at home. difficult to sleep comfortablyly but no other choice but to do surgery. 6 months to fully heal is prognosis. good luck.

I appreciate everyones reply. I'm now 3 days post op and I'm def sore. I'm not a fan of pain pills so I flushed em. Sounds crazy but I've lost both friends and family from those things so I'm trying to refrain from them. I'm nervous as hell to move and any feeling I get in shoulder worries me that I messed up my anchors...
I'm told 3 to 4 weeks in this then I'll start PT. Told to be prepared to be out 6 months before I'm 100%
Guess time will tell

Forget how long it was post surgery, but I went for a follow up and was wearing my sling. My doctor asked why I was still wearing it. I had the same fears as you about messing up the anchors. My doctor told me to take it off and move it around. Check with your doc, you don’t want to deal with a frozen shoulder.

I had a bankart/open rotator cuff repair for severe instability. Took me about 6 months to even feel somewhat normal and about a whole year before I felt comfortable lifting weights. I slept in a recliner for a good 4-6 months. Therapy is very painful for shoulder recovery and pain meds were a must. Be careful with the pain meds
Eta: I was 18 at the time of the surgery so my recovery was probably quick being young

Both my dr and pt told me to not remove the sling until told so. Both said 3 to 4 weeks before they will allow me to have it off. I take it off to shower and change but thats it for now . Im actually still having a little blood come from one of the incisions.
The original bandages are also there. I was told to let them come off from shower but I'm worried about infection.
Any tips
