The Legend of Cecil Collins...

I posted this in the Cecil v CS thread yesterday
LINK
Just seems every year, a little something is added to Cecil's legend...
Do you think that if JV ended his LSU career after the 2003 NCG he would be thought of in the same light as Cecil?
Compare the 2nd half of JV's season to CC's they are very similar.

I saw both those guys play in high school and in college, and comparing Justin Vincent to Cecil Collins is about as unfair to Justin Vincent as comparing Aaron Rodgers to Brett Favre.

I see Cecil as a barbaric raping thug....Why would you expect anyone to view JV like that? All he did was to wear tacky penny loafers.

If I'm not mistaken didn't he break into apartments to spoon and expose himself? Certainly that is criminal behavior and he's serving time, but he was never a rapist was he?

How about Cecil Collins vs. Bill Brasky?????
Anyway, to answer what I think your question is.....I may be an unbelievable LSU homer but my true and honest-to-God belief is that if Cecil Collins had had 3 unbroken years as the starting tailback at LSU, he would have taken his place with Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson as one of the greatest running backs to ever play college football. To this day, he is hands down the most talented football player that I have ever seen play in person. The details of his tragic personal life make all of that seem insignificant but I still find myself wondering sometimes what might have been with that guy. Such a shame.....

No. Nobody ever compared the two...even right after the NCG...as high as JV's stock was then, nobobdy that had actually witnessed what CC did even mentioned the two together. He was in a league all by himself....but unfortunately in other people's apartments not by himself.
