Best Recieving Corps Ever?

With Marques Colston not playing last night, we still had some apparent stars blazing at the wide out spot.
David Patten looks as sharp as ever, Meachem took a nice step in proving he was who we thought he was, and Arrington also took some strides in showing he wasn't just camp-hype.
Even Lance Moore looked ok out there.

So i ask: Is this potentially the best, most talented wide recieving corps the saints have ever had? And if not, what year/era do you think was better?

You have to take into consideration the saints has never really had any great WR's. So I think if Meachem lives up the the pre-draft hype then yes, this will be the best WR core we've had. I think when Joe was in his prime and we had Pathon and Stallworth(rookie year) they were pretty explosive.

if you could throw in reggie bush in the slot as a wr/rb then by far.. the most explosive for sure.

To be specific, im not even talkin bout Shockey or Reggie when he lines up in the slot, just strictly wide outs.

But yeah, add Bush and the Shock-man in from time to time and...and...well, damn, that just shouldn't be legal.....

I'll tell you this. I can't think of anther team that has as much talent as we do on Offense. The Pats and Colts may give us a run for our money but damn we've got some wepons this year.

Then I guess sometime in the early to mid 2000's when they had Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth, Jerome Pathon, Michael Lewis, Devery Henderson..?? I really don't know the rosters too well..(maybe..)

but that still doesn't even compare to this years wideouts..

Wow. What a fly-by-the-seat-of-your pants homer statement this is.

Look, the receivers looked really good last night. I'll definitely give you that. But, this is preseason game 1. That's it. Let's see how good these guys are when it comes time to tee it up against divison rivals.

I hope you're right, though.

This is the saints board. We just witnessed the first ounce of real football many of us have had since draft. What did you expect?

I should have expected homerisms. It's okay to be optimistic, but making claims to the best receiving corps ever? I mean, really?

I knew what he was saying. Still...a little outlandish at this point.
