Well, technically they'll have a 6-3 majority after today, but yes, I take your point.
However, I also wonder if once ACB is confirmed, and the Republicans hold a 6-3 majority if John Roberts might actually do the opposite of what we expect. He may, instead imo, move back to the right. I mean, what would be the point of siding with Dems when his vote won't make any difference anyways? Plus, he's gotta be thinking that he is under the gun with his adoption issues. I wouldn't be surprised to see him begin moving back to the right.
Time will tell though, and either way I don't think Roberts has much longer on the bench.
All of this is why ACB on the Court is so devastating for the Dems.
Aside from the fact that she solidifies a conservative majority, they lose whatever leverage they may have on Roberts. He’s still going to vote however he votes, but it really won’t matter anymore. He’s no longer a swing vote.

Yeah. I agree. Whatever leverage they have on Roberts becomes useless when he is no longer the swing vote. Roberts may end up being happier than anyone that ACB is confirmed.

Agreed. Once ACB is sworn in tonight, Roberts' position as a mercurial swing vote is lost forever and he loses all value to his DS handlers. His addiction to Beltway cocktail parties has doomed him.

Imo it should be basically illegal for these justices to participate in DC social gatherings. It sucks to tell a judge something like, "you cannot attend cocktail parties with politicians in DC," but damn. They need to be impartial.
It's unconscionable that a SCOTUS Justice could ever be compromised by politicians.

Correct.
I can see Trump replacing 2 more which could very well make him a "liberal" judge on the SCOTUS.

Anyone got any guesses?
Based on the last week, new info starts dropping about 30 minutes after Hannity cuts to the camera on the guard shack at Biden’s house.

If they've got anything up their sleeve they're running out of time. Whatever it is (if there's anything at all) would need time to circulate through the media and everything before the confirmation vote takes place.
If they have any cards to play I'd say they've only got a couple more hours to play it. Hopefully their hand is empty.

Breyer and Thomas are on the clock, IMO.
Upon certification of DJT's reelection, I think both will announce their retirement at the end of the current session.

Grain of salt and all, but the chatter on the chans currently is that Biden is about to drop out and be replaced.

We've heard that for like a week. Dems would have to try a hail mary postponement, right?

Again, grains of salt, but folks are claiming they're going to try and force people to vote again? Don't know how that would work. Maybe they're thinking they can embroil the Senate in a crisis on the day of the confirmation. Delaying the vote?
