It'll just be a quick weekend trip for us and another couple. We were trying to keep costs low bc we just spent a week in breck with the kids. I booked some place called 3 peaks lodge which is close by skiing and only 150/night. Its prob a dump but it'll work. Had a 300$ AA flight voucher so got round trip for me n Mrs jkyle for 150 bucks. Pretty stoked about that. Lift tix will be the only real big expense. Never skied keystone before. Breck was my first time a couple weeks ago and im hooked.

I prefer Keystone over Breck for a group of varied ability. Keystone doesn’t have any of the lift accessed, high alpine stuff like Breck, but I prefer the setup. Once you go up from the base, you don’t have to go all the way back until the end of the day. If you can ski blues, work your way to the backside then ski towards the base as time permits. However, I have spent days on the front side just making laps off the Montezuma lift.
Since you are staying off mountain, driving in, and trying not to spend money, the bus system works great and I prefer it versus being in the River Run lot. The buses will drop you off at the lift opposed to having to walk across a huge parking lot and then through the village.

quote:I live right behind here and it’s about a 5 minute walk to the Peru lift, just make sure to hit the crosswalk button when crossing hwy 6. 3 Peaks used to be rough but it was getting renovated during the entire quarantine and the lobby is nicer now but I haven’t seen the rooms yet, I’m sure it’ll be fine though.
