Hope he doesn't play if he's not close to 100%. It'll hurt more than help both him and team.
That’s my thing. There’s a line between tough and foolish. If he can’t physically do the best job, he doesn’t need to be playing.

I think we can beat Auburn with Finley but I don’t expect to beat them with Brennan. He doesn’t seem calm and lacks the “it” factor and is not clutch.
The difference in the Brennan games and TJ's was the first 3 Brennan was expected to put the team on his back and the last Finley was asked to work within the system and the OL and RBs carried the load.
Just look at the MSU game where we couldn't stop Leach. The coaches decided to throw to match MSU. We controlled the game vs Vandy so we were able to balance a bit more. Against Mizzou the staff abandoned the run passing on 48 attempts vs 16 rushes. Finley only had to throw 21 times against USCe because we controlled the LOS and had 275 yards rushing.
If we can establish the run we can win with either QB. It's that simple.

a substantial amount of people on this board are ready to anoint Finley as the starter because he played well against a bad team.
USC is probably the best team we've played all year...

I would hope he takes a little time off to heal to 90%+, but I understand. I was really hoping to see Johnson start a game so to see what the boy has.
As for as the people claiming Finley has the "IT" factor, I disagree or it's too early to tell. He played very well and I like what I saw. I hate to use Tua T. as an example, but when that boy came in as a freshman after halftime against Georgia, that was an example of the "IT" factor. Only took a couple of throws to see it and everyone knew it, esp Georgia.

Myles has had the offense mostly put on his shoulders.
I'd say completely

He sat out bc of pain this weekend. He saw exactly what his back up is capable of doing against a good defense. I suspect he won’t have a problem taking the pain shot this Saturday.

Regardless of your opinion on who should start, at least we know that if Brennan is injured or plays terribly we have at least one highly capable backup.
This sums it up. For a long time people said SE and O needed to prove to develop QB's. This is nothing but a positive for the future of this team and recruiting. We know we have at least 2 capable QB's, although just 1 game for Finley. I also believe in Max Johnson.
There seems to be a very healthy competition that should keep the starter on his toes.

He better run the offense like TJ did or he will get yanked. He doesn’t hit a receiver in stride like TJ .

matters not. whoever starts will be on notice, play well or ride the pine. we have more than one capable qb and that is huge.
