Am I wasting money on YouTubeTv with a 75” TV?

It doesn’t produce a signal over 720p so any type of live sporting event has been looking like shite. I’ve checked all the settings. My internet speed is consistently over 300mbps. I don’t get it. I haven’t really been paying close attention I guess but I finally sat down this weekend and watched some football and was kind of taken aback by the shitty picture.

i'm super confused.
is this a 4K tv?
is the youtube app built in or running from a stick or something?
youtube is fantastic for showcasing 4K HDR eye candy so i have no idea what you're doing wrong unless you have a setting in youtube to keep the quality under 720p.

The OP is talking about the YouTubeTV service which is limited to 720p @ 60hz and 1080p @ 30Hz and most of the 720p channels only do 30Hz too.

Good to know that wasn't just me.

Pretty sure YTTV does 1080, and I haven't heard any complaints about its picture quality, so I don't know why it would look worse than any other streaming service for most broadcasts. But also, according to this, live sports haven't been using 4K due to covid restrictions.
Have you tried any other streaming services lately, or have you burned your free trials with all of them?

Due to local Coronavirus ordinances, the networks are only permitted to use a limited number of technicians and camera operators at the games; a 4K broadcast requires more people and infrastructure.

My TCL 6 displays YouTube TV just as good as Direct TV did.
I don’t have any issues with it.

Now that I think about it, wasn't it that CBS or someone was putting out a dogshit signal during the LSU game a few weeks ago?
LSU is basically all the sports I watch now so if that was the case, it skews my perception.

Maybe I'm missing something on my end. Are you hardwired or connecting to wifi?

Connected to Wi-Fi.
I have some cheap Insignia Roku TV’s that look fine as well.

That’s why I dropped YouTube tv. Once you know how to judge pixels (usually closer you get more obvious it is) it’s hard to justify YouTube tv. Looks like shite above 65”

That's not true. DirecTV has been showing live 4K HDR sports since June. I watched the alot of the French Open, all of the NLCS/World Series and many college football games in 4K.
Here is a list of 4K sports the last week and upcoming the next couple days. DirecTV is the way to go if you want 4K sports.

I was thinking this might be the culprit as well. I'd try hard wiring if you can and see if that improves tihngs.

Did you try changing the channel to see if any others looked bad. It may have just been the channel you were watching. I have Roku TV's in 55 and 65"s everything looks great. Although I have heard certain sports on certain channels look like crap because of the station itself.
