The flaw of informed people like this board attracts is that we vastly underestimate the uninformed in this country.
The "Coyote" comment from the debate is a perfect example. You had thousands of comments on social media, many from blue checks like Jemele Hill, elected officials like the Georgia congresswoman, who literally thought he meant actual coyotes and thought they had him.
Even with confronted with the truth, many of them doubled down. These people have millions of combined followers that they influence. Whereas you and I look at that and say anyone who questioned that statement has no right to speak on the border, they still consider themselves experts.

This shows how utterly stupid the American populace is. I mean, if you don't understand the term look it up. How fricking stupid do you have to be to think Trump was talking about an actual damn coyote? An uneducated voter base is the problem(see Thomas Jefferson).

Yep. Can’t be overstated enough. Huge amount of people hear a few sound bites and move on to wanting the next iPhone or posting on Instagram. There is nothing nefarious about these people they simply do not know much about anything really going on outside of the next viral thing they look at or show they’re going to watch on Netflix.

It's in The Bell Curve. We tend to associate with people in our own IQ quintile. Thus, when your IQ is 115 and you have to deal with someone who is at 100, you think he's a moron. Actually, he's average.

Leftists are so obsessed with power that they'd happily seize control over an issue (like gun rights or immigration) that they don't even understand at a fundamental level.
