Having lunch with a table full of UGA fans today and they were shocked (literally) when I mentioned that I thought LSU will be motivated for the UGA more so than the Bama game.

They totally forgot (or thought it was no big deal) about Richt's comments at the end of last year. Instead of getting behind the SEC champ, or better yet, saying nothing, he pretty much tried to hog the spotlight from LSU.

I have to think Coach Miles and the players have that game circled.

Thoughts?

I imagine Richt's comments don't mean a hill of beans to Miles and Co.

Rocket,

I listen to Bill every morning on the way to work and even though he tries to remain unbiased when talking football, I get the sense he likes LSU.

He can't wait to play that CCR Born on the Bayou clip.

Took a call from Morgan City this morning, I bout ran off the road when I heard Morgan City.

Really it is not that bad here in Alabama. Auburn and Bama are really too busy talking about each other, but you do get the evil eye if you wear LSU gear.

I'm not entirely sure I understand where all these cries about UGA fans being the whiners on these forums are coming from, especially when everything I read on here about UGA is some sort of LSU complaint about them. Seems pretty hypocritical.

You're making it sound like how Hillary should be backing the O-man because she lost the party's nomination. It's not quite the same thing. When Richt is asked questions about his team, don't you think he owes it to his team and his fans to respond with comments about the team? Why on earth do you think he should start talking about LSU? That doesn't even make sense.

And for the record, Richt said he felt like a team should win their own conference if playing for the national championship, but pointed out that they had recently changed the rules to where that wouldn't always be the case. My guess would be for a Big 10 team along down the line that the media would want to see in the title game.

Brother Bill is wild.

LSU fans definitely have a spot on the show.

It's the premier sports talk show in the country.

Good luck with them. It took one of my UGA friends reading a article about LSU's lines to think they'd be good this year, even though I had been saying it since January.

He even said today he thought UGA would lose in Baton Rouge, but beat us in the SECCG.

How about the fact that Georgia kicked our butts in 2004 at Georgia and then the next year in the SEC CG. Two spankings and I think we are more motivated.

No other team has come close to beating us that bad in the last four years in any one game, much less two. I would say we may be flying high, especially if they come in ranked number one.

There are few things that I can think of worse than talking down the national champs from your own conference, right when it's their turn to shine, so that you can whine about not getting a chance, despite losing 2 games and barely pulling off victories over Vanderbilt and Troy.

I can't possibly imagine an LSU fan being more motivated to beat Bama than UGA this fall, especially considering that we haven't lost to Bama since 2002.

I think UGA fans are the worst in the SEC.

Trash talk is fun to most people, but not to them. They truly think that not onlt their team, but that they, personally, are better than you are. Its very serious with them. They read way to much AJC...kinda like the Gumps listening to Finebaum.

It was great living among them in the 2003 season. Of course they love to point out their last two victories....but we all know that any UGA fan would gladly trade our two victories in 2003 for the ones they got the next two seasons...and for the rewards that we got for beating them.

I have also lived near Starkville, close enough to Columbia, S.C., and spent some time in Gator country as well. IMO, UGA fans take the cake as most arrogant fans in the conference. THeir delusions are almost on par with the Gumps.

The only thing good ever associated with UGA, is Larry Munson. I wish LSU had a guy like that.

That's sort of weird considering that most media analysts seem to pretending that offensive linemen don't exist this season.

And at least we have a line on offense. Is Georgia even close to knowing who they're going to start on the O-line this year?

the best was today i asked how can you possibly have something over LSU when they havent won in 30 years. Theyre response: we won the SEC championship twice. I just cant get it through to them that we just won 2 NATIONAL championships in the past 5 years AND 1 mor SEC championship.
