My daughter is seeing Dr Mehta for some issues with a hole in her eardrum for a while now. He is scheduled to close it surgically soon. We have been pleased with him.

Arriaga is one of the best; that’s why it takes 6+ months plus a kidney to get in to see him. If you want Arriaga 2.0 in terms of expertise, drive to Lafayette and schedule an appt with Dr Jimmy White..* You’ll get in within a few weeks AND he has excellent bedside manner

Try looking for someone at The Baton Rouge Clinic.

Is it a vertigo issue? I treated with Dr Lacour at (Livingston) North Oaks. My primary care Dr was affiliated with North Oaks at the time and referred me to him.

The only Otolaryngologist I know is Dr. Cheryl Braud - I have never been to her and don’t know if she can help you - but she’s a relative of a family friend and she’s very smart and caring
But I have not been a patient if hers and I’m not sure if she can help with hearing and balance

It’s my daughter (no pics she’s 7), she has some inner ear bone issues. We battled arriagas office all of 2020 and spent a lot of money after no realizing they coded different than our insurance would except towards our copays. Not a huge deal but all the money we spent went towards our deductible which we finally met solely based on their charges. We had a surgery scheduled with them for the week of Thanksgiving (bc we had met deductible) and they called today and straight canceled her surgery without any indication on when it can be rescheduled other than it won’t be in 2020 and they’d call when they know what 2021 looks like. Their front office has been abysmal to work with. We are just to our breaking point after the cancellation and willing to drive to nola or where ever if need be.
ETA it’s hearing loss related and doesn’t seem to effect balance at this age.

What kind of issues did she have from the hole? I've had one in mine for a while. ENT doc found it when I went with a bad infection. I hadn't had any issues with it prior, and he said it would likely close on it's own. That was several years ago, and I haven't been back nor had any problems. I've just always thought if it was an issue, it would bother me.

i want to bump this topic, for the 2nd time now the Hearing and Balance Center has canceled our surgery that was originally scheduled in July for December, sick of OLOL and their shitty front office. Looking for a different doctor for sure this time.

The #1 person I would recommend in the entire state is Gerald Gianoli in Covington. I am in the medical field and know him professionally - he is outstanding. I would suggest trying him over anyone in our area.
