Overton window is different in each state. JBE wouldn't get close to the GOP nomination in California or New York. Baker is a RINO.

Same reason congress has about a 15% approval rate but there are so many extremely long tenured incumbents. Its never their local guy that's the problem.

What about Democrat Senators? Republicans should dominate the Senate. Where do all the Democrats come from???

Kansas can be explained in two words--Sam Brownback.

You can't forget that Republican governors can be idiots too.

Controversy is a big reason. Take the last Republican governor of Nc... that bathroom law that cost them in sports revenue got him voted out. Chris Christie in Jersey is another.

Republicans are taking the governor’s seat back this year. Cooper won barely with some mild controversy four years ago.

The top 9 out of 10 states with the highest unemployment all have democrat governors. Louisiana is 5 out of 52 (including Puerto Rico and DC).

I can address Wisconsin. Scott Walker embarrassed the state and himself in his presidential run in 2016. He allowed the state's highways to deteriorate. He had served two four year terms as governor, so people were tired of him. Also 2018 was a blue wave year.

Right now polling has the state voting for Biden. 53% - 48%.

It's a purple state. It wouldn't shock me if the Republicans won the governor's race in 2022.

Same reason the poll results from New Orleans comes in about two hours after the rest of the state.
