The Texans defense gave up 601 total yards. I’m pretty sure they know they are trash lol.

I would’ve kicked the PAT to go up by 8.
I would have attempted the XP, but that’s only about a 90% chance it’s successful with their kicker.

Go for 2 and if you convert it's a 17 point 3 score game and basically over. Even if you miss it's 15 and the other team would still have to convert one 2 point conversion to tie it.

No, just as if you succeed it doesn't mean you made good decisions. Pretty elementary thinking there.

100%.
2-pt conversions are not this coin-flip people make it out to be.
Against the Bears? Sure, it might be. But not against the Texans defense.
It's the same reason people thought Zimmer made the right call going for the win instead of the 8-point lead against Seattle.
Everyone in the world knew Seattle would force OT.

You must not play poker.

Going for two told your defense they were trash. So when you missed it, you basically told them to frick off.
Sometimes the defense needs to hear the truth then

Going for two cost them the game. They lost because of it. If you lose because of a decision you made, it’s a bad decision, plain and simple.

Anyone disagreeing with the decision to go for 2 up 7 at that stage of the game is the same person that doesn’t understand why when you are down 14 you should go for 2 after scoring the first TD.
Always been a proponent of not demoralizing your team by failing to convert that 2 point conversion and telling them...sorry, we're still two scores down despite all your effort and time running out.
They had this discussion on Sunday Night Football during the game and Al Michaels (imo) rightfully said, stats can go frick themselves...you can't go for two first...when you need two scores...sports is not played by robots, it's emotional and if the team thinks they only need to score 1 more time, they will play better.
Failing on an early two-point conversion is demoralizing and sucks the life out of the team...because now they are still back where they were.
Collinsworth said, yeah but at least you know what you need and ergo onside kicks.
Kicking the XP keeps the momentum and keeps the fire in the belly of the players rather than deflating them.
Go for the 2 early and the team can give up.
