Deep in the prehistoric days in which you still had to type "www" in front of a URL to get it to load up in Netscape, I stumbled across an amazing site that broke down every single song the Beatles ever recorded. Heavy emphasis on music theory, but clever insight into instrumentation, arrangements, and production techniques as well.

Of course it's early 90s-era web design, so the top page looks hideous, and the individual song pages are just black Times New Roman text on a white background, but the insights are fascinating and quite exhaustive.

Notes On The Beatles

A quick DuckDuckGo search found this site, which organizes things a bit better.

Thanks...great watch/listen. Here's the guide from the comments as to the sections.

quote:

Drums 0:00-2:56
Bass 2:58-5:56
Guitars, Second Bass and Piano 5:57-8:58
Hammond Organ and Orchestra 9:02-11:56
Vocals 11:58-14:38

I'm sure you've heard the Abby Road Medley/vocals only before. I listen to it often by itself.
