My old dentist was an extremely gregarious and talkative guy. He played linebacker for Notre Dame in the early 70s, including the game at LSU in '71, and was friends with DiNardo.
Luckily he didn't talk much while actually doing dental work, but he and I would always spend about 20min after the appointment talking about college football and LSU.

My wife left her dentist because his hygienist wouldn't STFU while working on her mouth.
ETA: I had a barber who used to smoke when he cut my hair, so I quit going to him.
