That's the stupidest claim of racist I think I ever heard about..
So the song was written as satire to a confederate song, but because it was used in a play in which white people in the play wore "black face" people are saying its racist and should not be played anymore? WTF?
These college kids are not just coming up with this so who is bringing this up making it an issue?

I don’t even think that was the original outrage reasoning, first it was because Robert e lee used to say “the eyes of the south are upon you” to his students . One of them later made the song and changed if to “eyes of Texas”. Then they expanded it to the minstrel stuff to stir up more faux outrage.
