People also need to realize, to AA's discredit, that Fried was not going to be counted on to be our #1 or even #2 guy. He was coming off 2019 with a over 4 ERA and didn't even start a game vs. the Cardinals for us. We lost Keuchel (which, fair or not, in hindsight is an awful move), Folty was always a headcase, and we got 2 veterans way past their prime who didn't contribute anything of note.

The only reason we have a legit #2 is because a ROOKIE (who just made his 7th, 8th, and 9th CAREER starts in the postseason) is absolutely smashing every expectation we could have had for him. And he was only called up due to desperation.

AA is extremely lucky Fried has pitched his butt off and Anderson came out of nowhere. This year could have been way different.

I don't agree with everything Snit does but he and Kranitz have made chicken salad out of you know what.

Ehhh... I don't know about that. It felt like it was pretty obvious heading into last offseason that Fried was always going to be #2 or #3 in the rotation behind Soroka's 1.

Fried started off last season really well and tapered off a bit. It was still dumb to put Folty over him in the postseason rotation (it was also dumb to hold Soroka to game 3, but that's another story).

I couldn’t disagree with this more. Keuchel isn’t helping anybody win a postseason game these days and I would want no part of that contract.

If we can get a true bullpen game with our top tier guys covering 7 innings+ either tonight or tomorrow I think we will win that game.

Keuchel was bad this year.
