CNNSI poll has LSU at 9...............

Kind of where I thought we'd start in the real polls too.
But I just cannot for the life of me figure out why Auburn is #7. They may be more overrated than any team in the country IMO.

Nah. Georgia holds that distinction. YOu'll all see at the end of the season what I'm saying about Georgia. They will shite and fall back in it.

I agree that Georgia probably won't win the East, but its not crazy to have them at #1 preseason. They bring back a lot, and finished the year strong. I don't mind them being #1 preseason.

I'm glad to see someone drop Texas back where they belong. Texas at #10 kept the SEC from having 4 top 10 teams preseason.
But WTF is so nifty about Texas Tech. Yes, they return starters...for an 8-4 team. They still won't win the Big XII South and aren't better than Missouri out of the North.

I'm a little perplexed about Auburn too... and while I'm at it, Texas Tech as a top ten is a little confusing also. I know they will put up big numbers, but is their D good enough to earn that ranking?

Is Texas Tech's D ever good enough for a top 10 team? As for Auburn, they return 15 starters and will have a pretty dominant defense like they always do. The schedule is set up nicely for them playing Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU at home. Their toughest SEC road game is at Alabama, but they do have to play at WVU.

Interesting that the 4 other D1-A LA teams (Tech, ULL, ULM, Tulane) are all in triple digets.

Having won a National Championship should give a team some type of clout...soooo...no. I don't think #9 is overrating LSU.
I think losing Muschamp will hurt them more than anyone realizes. It was a contrast in styles between Muschamp and Pelini every LSU/AU game. I loved watching the chess match. AU's D-coordinator has some big shoes to fill. Oh yeah, they are also bringing in an inexperienced QB.
