you seem like a smart guy most of the time so going to assume you understand how important the qb position is. It is such a premium that locking up a top tier qb cost Kansas City half a billion dollars. If you have a chance to get the closest thing to a lock at qb since Andrew luck you take it. People like you are the reason the browns always suck and the patriots always win. There’s times to play the averages and there’s times to take the once in a generation talent to pass on Lawrence would make you an absolute moron

Imagine this time last year telling someone that Hopkins, BOB, and potentially Watson would all be gone from Houston.

Imagine thinking Watson is going anywhere

This is a good point. I stand corrected.

Imo you take Lawrence no matter what and trade him for more first round picks.

Or work out a trade for someone to move up and take Lawrence while getting multiple first rounders.

Any team picking number 1 has multiple needs

I doubt they take Trevor with Tua

You take Trevor and trade Tua. It would be culpepper Brees part 2.

I’m not even convinced it’s a forgone conclusion that Lawrence goes #1. And that’s not a slight on him (although, as great as he is, I don’t think he’s a Peyton Manning can’t miss type like it’s portrayed), but Sewell from Oregon is a fricking beast. So if the Giants or Bengals or Dolphins if they are committed to Tua, I think they take Sewell at 1.

Sure, you’d love to trade the 1 and grab more picks, but unless you still somehow wind up with the #2, you’re likely not getting Sewell. And I think he’s right there with Lawrence as the best 2 players in the draft. There will be a ton of teams trying to trade up to take him too. One thing that makes them both so valuable—besides how good they are and the premium positions they play—is the steep(at least as of now) drop from them to the next best QB and LT. And the gap between them and the 3rd best prospect in the draft, whoever that winds up being.

Tl:dr—Lawrence is the best prospect in the draft. But Sewell is a close 2nd and if a team that’s got a QB they like winds up with the 1st pick, they are probably just gonna take Sewell at 1 to protect that QB unless they can somehow make a trade work where they end up with the #2.

ATL - pick

Nope

The Falcons would do it. They're going to have a new GM and HC next season and Matt Ryan will be 36. He isn't the problem but new regimes often want their own guy.

I think the Falcons roster will look dramatically different next year as they start a total rebuild.

Not sure he’s as slam dunk for phins given that Tua is left handed. I think they’d try to get assets if they weren’t taking Trevor.

All this is fact. Sad thing for the Falcons is they will end up winning 5-6 games this year with the talent they have.

BoB is such an amazing GM that he was able to predict this dilemma and traded his 1st round pick away the year before so he wouldn't have to deal with this situation.

Oh duh. They don’t have the first or second round pick

Great job by BoB.

If I’m a new coach/GM, I’m hitching my wagon to a proven commodity (Matt Ryan) over an unknown rookie. Plus you can play Ryan for 2-3 years until you find your guy and then turn it over to them.

Out of all your second group of teams listed, probably only the Giants and Rams would definitely pass.

You think the Giants would pass???? Jones is hot garbage. Hell honestly if I were the Rams id take him. He will be substantially better than Goff.

Im not great with Salary Cap#s but can Wash and Car afford him?Teddy B just signed a large contract and Wash still has Alex Smith and Haskins.Qbs normally have alot guaranteed $ in their contracts. Jac is the biggest lock to draft him its matter how Minshew plays. This draft should be interested because after Arz traded Rosen anything is possible.

Good point. I guess it’s not as simple as just moving him to RT.

But I’m not sold on Tua translating to the NFL yet. They’ve got to go to him sometime this season to see what they’ve got. Unless they see him in practice and already know. Hide him from being exposed to the rest of the league and try to move him for picks and draft another QB.

Tua is going to be legit. They have no reason to throw him out there right now.
