The defense was working in a team drill when the media was allowed into practice. Running with the first team on the defense were Kirston Pittman, Drake Nevis, Ricky Jean-Francois and Tyson Jackson on the defensive line. Kelvin Shepphard, Perry Riley and Darry Beckwith at Line Backer and the defensive backfield of Jai Eugene, Chris Hawkins, Harry Coleman and Curtis Taylor.

Interesting. I've heard some debates on here about Coleman starting over Jones, but not many about Nevis beating out Alexander.

Instead of linking to your page, can you at least expound on the subject and provide some thoughts of your own?

I realize both are good, and both have stepped up in big ways in the games they've played in. But to me it almost seems that Coleman would get the nod first because of experience/seniority. Plus he is from my area of town, so I have to cheer for him.

I'll be content with Drake Nevis starting on the D-line. He was really impressive in his limited playing time last year. Very quick and strong off the line of scrimmage.

Man its going to be almost impossible for teams to run up the middle on RJF and Nevis with Beckwith filling in behind. I see a lot of outside runs coming. Hopefull Sheppard and Riley are quick to the ball and sure tacklers. This D might be the most talented ever if the Corners can step up.

According to Bengal Blog, he is

That sounds good, though yesterday morning Alexander and Marlon Favorite were working behind Ricky Jean-Francois and Drake Nevis at defensive tackle.

I think Jones is not starting, cause of the options that he presents. With Coleman at the starting Safety it lets Jones go wherever the coaches want.
