Need a recommendation for a front loading washing machine...

My Whirlpool Duet washer, which I liked a lot, finally crapped out. Looking at Whirlpool, Maytag, LG and Samsung washers...how do all these brands compare to each other? I know Whirlpool and Maytag are built in the same facility...and was told that parts for LG and Samsung are now made in the USA, making them easier to repair...
thoughts?

Don't get a front loader, get a top loader.

Front-load Samsungs are notorious for leaking.

Also try to get one without a locking mechanism
Worst feature ever put on an appliance imo

If you must get a front loader, Maytag is a solid option. Speed Queen is better but it didn’t work for our configuration —- the two doors on SQ for W&D would open into each other back to back whereas our Maytag washer door swings left and dryer door swing right, giving us a much larger space to stand / swap clothes in.
If doing it all over again, I would go top loader. But that will require us to remove granite slab that is over front load washer and dryer (used for folded clothes).

Most doors on dryers are reversible. Yours may be different but most I have seen are.

The model that we had and returned from SQ did not have this option. We even checked with the dealer. Otherwise, we could have kept the SQs.

Don't.
Get a top loader and save yourself the inevitable problems later.

Most men left to their own devices would buy an old school reliable top loader for a fraction of the cost of the front loaders and not worry about it for the next 10 years.
But most men I don’t know aren’t left to their own devices when it comes to buying a washing machine by their wives who think top loaders are the equivalent of a wood grain station wagon.
I have LG front loaders which have been fine for 7 years of ownership but are about to need replacing.
I’ve heard Samsung looks great but doesn’t hold up and that the American made brands are typically the way to go from a reliability standpoint.

I have a Bosch front loader; have had it for almost 10 years without a problem. But, I have to leave the door open when not in use to keep mildew/mold away from the seal. And I always add Borax to my towels as another preventative for mildew. My next one will not be a front load.

My understanding is that’s basically true of all front loaders.

The front loader I am replacing lasted 10 years without a problem...it was great...and the Fan Fresh option is something you can't get on a top loader

Get a top loader Speed Queen.

Had a Samsung for about 10 years. Replaced the drain pump around year 8 and earlier this year it started acting up and giving me error messages. Have an LG now and so far, so good. We'll see how long this one lasts.
