Archie will never go in as a player. He had the misfortune of playing for some terrible Saints teams. Although I think there was an interview with Bob Griese, who said that if you put Archie on the Dolphins or the Steelers, "you'd have a Pro Bowl quarterback."

Archie was basically a one-man show in New Orleans. 67.1 career passer rating, 125 TD and 173 INT. Those #s just aren't good enough for the HOF.

It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Really Good Players Who Never Got the Chance to Play with Supreme Talent.

you gotta be shittin me, if crack smokin Michael Irvin , who was in and out of jail can get in, Rickey damn sure should, I don't condone his legal woes, but they are a lot of athletes out there not taking care of their kids, I always did say you get in the HOF by what you did on the field, not off.

Morton Anderson and Willie Roaf are locks imo.

Ricky Jackson should get in, but will not. He will be a victim of the TV generation and the fact that he didn't play in a big media market and didn't play for a really good team.

He will get passed over for guys with more pub like Deion Sanders, Jerome Bettis, Kevin Green, Warren Sapp, Mike Alstott, Simeon Rice, Jerry Rice, Keshaun Johnson, Michael Strahan, Steve McNair, Eric Metcalf, Art Monk, Herman Moore, Ken Norton Jr., Jay Novacek, Shannon Sharpe, Emmitt Smith, Neil Smith, Derrick Thomas, Rod and Darren Woodson, Gary Zimmerman, Darrell Green, Eddie George, Chris Carter, Marshall Faulk, Randall Cunningham, Tim Brown, Jamal Anderson, and Gary Anderson.

Not to mention when guys like Favre, Seau, Jason Taylor, Champ Bailey, Ray Lewis, etc. retire. I love Rickey, but I think he will get passed over by these guys.

that has no bearing what soever, NFL HOF voters are explicitly told they are consider on the field performance ONLY. I have heard Peter King and John McLain talk about it on numerous occasions, especially when Lawrence Taylor came up for a vote.

Definite, not even close. He's the all time leading scorer in NFL history. He's also the all time leading scorer for the Saints and Falcons. He's a no brainer.

He is also a kicker and spent most of his career playing for dome teams. I think there is only one pure kicker in the Hall, (Jan Stenerud). At one time he was the most accurate, but there have been several guys with similar FGP since. No kicker is a lock anything.

Roaf and Jackson are the most likely, Rickey I'm afraid is overshadowed by LT and Swilling, but he should get consideration.

It's a shame people value Swilling's career over Rickey's. Rickey was so much better against the run and in pass coverage. Swilling was just a speed guy. Rickey's the toughest Saint of all time and is still my favorite Saint. As for the deadbeat dad stuff that is sad. As a father who has been paying child support for 13 years I know it can sometimes be a struggle and you have to think or hope that money isn't a problem for Rickey. Anyway I digress and ain't even sure where I was headed but just based on his play on the field Rickey should have been in a long time ago. He is without a doubt one of the best outside linebackers of all times.

Fixed it.

Paul Hornung was also a Saint - actually the first Saint from the expansion draft. He got busted and had to sit out a year for gambling...and he is in the HOF.

Jackson should be in. He talks better than Fred Dean.

Can't get into the HOF off of one kick. At best he was a career 60% kicker

I guess it's better to be a crackhead i.e. Mike Irvin, than to owe child support.

"Rickey wants noise!" I loved me some Rickey

Wasn't Kenny Stabler voted in in the last couple of years? (not that I liked him much as a Saint)

the saints fans should be inducted but we'd have to retire first.
