US Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s wealthy investment banker husband used his influence to help an underqualified student get into the University of California, Berkeley, according to a new report.
Richard Blum, a UC alum and regent since 2002, penned a letter to the school chancellor’s office on behalf of the unnamed student, who was waitlisted and had just a 26 percent chance of getting into the prestigious university, the San Jose Mercury News reported Thursday.
Blum’s letter was forwarded to UC’s admissions office, which prioritized the student’s application over more qualified applicants, the outlet said.

Is this where we remind everyone that The Feiensteins made millions off of “legal” insider trading allowed to members of Congress/senate?
Maybe I’m misremembering but did t she help write bills that basically gave congress and the senate Carte Blanche regarding insider trading.

SInce when is this such a big deal though? Pardon my ignorance, but letters of recommendation have been a thing for 50 years. If I knew an Ourso, I'd have them write me a letter to get into the school of Business at LSU, if they were willing. I don't care for Feinstein at all either, but I don't see what the big deal is here.
It doesn't seem that he threatened them or enticed them monetarily. What's the problem?

Why did he recommend this student? Was there money exchanged for the recommendation? It's a bad look for the Feinsteins.

Why doesn't some real journalist look into DiFi's China connections and while they're at it pull all the congressional voting records and list all the rat bastards in congress that voted on legislation that allowed American industrial might to be offshored to China....that would be nice.
