What is convenient is that none of the police officers had body cams, so we're just left with their word.
Where the shot landed is irrelevant. Police do not get to fire indiscriminately into a home for any reason.

1 witness out of 12 admitted that they "may" have heard a knock and only after the 3rd interview. Not a reliable witness and neither are the cops. The whole thing stinks as a cover up.
