used to be a big game in North Louisiana for Tech and NSU to play, because of the players that came from Shreveport.

It sure was. Saw Bradshaw hit Liberto for eighty yards in the final 25 seconds to beat NSU.

your pathetic butts
When I think of pathetic butts, I think of the Tech QB's arse after three quarters in last year's game at BR. I've never seen a grass stain that large...

Just indulging in a little schadenfreude...

Hey John, what's McNeese's record against Tech?
13 - 24. Tech is the only Louisiana school McNeese has played that the Cowboys don't historically have a winning record against. Of course they haven't played LSU or Tulane.
Tech was a real small college power. I have nothing but respect for that. All I'm saying is that when you look at the better years Tech has had record wise and think about how they compared to LSU I think you need to keep the level of competition Tech was getting most of its wins against in mind.
Tech was among the elite of Division II or Division I-AA many times. But it has never had a really good team in I-A. Very unlikely that 1990 Indy Bowl team would've finished with a record good enough to get into post season if it'd played a schedule of even average difficulty in the context of I-A.
Like I said, if they played every year Tech probably would not have been completely shut out. Like in 1999, when Tech finished 8-3 and upset SEC champ Alabama, LSU finished 3-8. But, even then, I don't think it would've been a lock at all. That 3-8 LSU record was fashioned against a much tougher overall schedule.
If you look at BCS league opponentsw Tech was 1-3 in 1999 and they were pretty much blown out in their three losses; including getting whacked 45-19 by Southern Cal when they really had a chance to make a statement at the end of the season against a Trojan team that came into the game at 5-6.
LSU was even worse at only 1-7 against BCS league opponents. But who knows if Tech would've done any better overall against same schedule? I think tech may actually have been a little better that year; but not by all that much.

Tech fans are idiots.
Now that is an intelligent argument.

La. Tech faced most teams 2nd string. When retay made it to the nfl he got hurt in camp. Where is he now? Tech should have stayed at div.2

La Tech is a minor league program -- always has been, always will be.

Just to give an example of what I'm talking about:
First, when I say, "major teams" I'm referring to teams in BCS leagues at times when games were played as well as teams from the old Big Eight and Southwest conferences.
1990 - 2007, Louisiana Tech was 7-47-2 against major teams.
I think we can all agree that LSU has been up durng the 2000s. Also, Tech did better in the 1990s than it has in this decade. The Bulldogs are 2-24 against major teams during this decade and were 5-23-2 during the 1990s. That's a 20% win rate.
LSU was down during the 1990s. The Tigers had losing records during 7 of the 10 seasons 1990 - 1999. But they still had about twice as good a winning percentage against major teams, at about 40% or 36-55-1, than Louisiana Tech did.
Even though it's true that Tech had to play a much greater percentage of its games gainst major teams that LSU did, that's still a pretty substantial difference.
If Tech was going to get some wins against LSU, the 1990s would've been a good time to try to do it. But I think that, even during that down time, LSU generally had notably stronger teams year in and year out than Tech did.

Tulane is 22-67-7 all time against LSU for a 26.5% win rate. no way Tech would have done that well
You're probably right. I didn't realize Tulane has done that well in the series.

I just don't want LSU to fall into the arrogant syndrome. Don't forget that we have not always been at the top. Remember the roads it took to get where we are now. I am an LSU fan, but also a Louisiana fan that pulls for the many great atheletes that were proud to be from here. This whole state represents the underdog role that other states have projected us in. When we do well or something from here is, there seems to be animosity against Louisiana as being inferior to them.

When I lived in Oklahoma, the guys I played basketball with said that Shaq wasn't a good player. In the upper midwest, there is no reference to the Louisiana Purchase; is Lewis and Clark. Either a put down or no recognition.

Some seriously delusional LoSer-U fanbois around here.

What is a "fanbois" dipshit?
Posted on 8/4/08 at 9:22 am to tonytiger61
I can only figure that a fanbois dipshit would be the dipshit out of a fanboi (minus the possessive "s"), dipshit.
