Mine would have to be the 2002 Sugar Bowl. I was probably about 14 or 15 years old. I remember watching this game in my uncles LSU Man Cave on his BIG SCREEN TV. Watching Rohan Davey dice up the Illini Defense, throwing for 450 yards. Seemingly throwing to JOSH REED every play. Reed was on another level that night. Hauling in 14 passes for over 200 yards. My father had already ingrained LSU into my head when I was young but this was kinda the earliest memory I have of actually sitting down and cheering for the Purple and Geauxld. It was a great night. I will always remember that.

My earliest recollections of the Tigers are just the games on the radio playing in our little chicken coop house in Jennings on fall Saturday nights. The first time I can really remember being caught up in the game was the 1971 Notre Dame game, televised nationally, I could finally see what was going on on the radio every Saturday night. My dad and my older sisters and I watched the game and celebrated the win and from that time on I was hooked.

Going to Gerry Dinardo’s first football camp in the summer of 95 hooked me as an 8 year old kid. Before that, LSU football was just something fun to do on fall Saturday’s. I haven’t missed a game either in person or on tv since 95.

First game I remember being at is the Tennessee game in 2000 we won in OT. The earliest experience I have is listening to the UAB game that year on the radio because it wasn’t on TV

I was 7 years old in 1969. We didn't have a tv but we were visiting my aunt and uncle who did have a tv. My uncle started watching a football game. I was mesmerized. I thought it was cool guys got to run into each other and play with that funny looking ball.
I asked my uncle who was playing, he said LSU and Alabama. I asked him what team he wanted to win ? He gave me the glare. "LSU, boy". It was right then I would become a lifelong LSU fan. The TV was black and white so I didn't even know the LSU colors.
My uncle has since passed but to this day I am thankful for that one Saturday that gave me my fandom. LSU won, 20-15.

Little brother was a walkon. He got booted from the team for missing a mandatory meeting. He started sulking and tried to give up. I told him to man up and go ask coach Dinardo for another chance. He asked if I would go with him.
I took the day off and went down to BR. He mustered up enough confidence to march in the office and ask. I was in the waiting room so I don't know what all was said but my brother came walking out smiling and he took me to tour the locker room and put his stuff back in his locker. I just walked around in awe.
He ended getting cut that fall, but I've been a fan ever since.

LSU - A&M in Tiger Stadium in 1986. The band during pregame, those four notes to the four corners. Hodson’s first game and first start. Sammy Martin’s sprint straight up the middle of the field for a long touchdown. Some guy wearing yellow duck heads tumbling down the student section head over heels during a fight. Murphy’s before and after the game.
I’ve walked into countless arenas and witnessed sporting events of the highest order on many, many occasions since then, but the plain truth is nothing has really ever come close to that feeling of being in Tiger Stadium for the first time. Cool, eerie, surreal.

I was in the dome for that sugar bowl... my first was the southern miss loss under Curley. Fell in love with a half empty tiger stadium and rode the rebuild all the way

1993 going to LSU vs Florida with my Dad and him making me stay to the bitter end. My memory was that it was raining and we just sat there watching LSU get pummeled. If my dad was going to sit there through that crap, then I knew the Tigers were special.

Earliest recollection was the 1958 season when my uncles would come over on Sunday mornings to talk with my dad about the game the night before. Earliest game I remember was listening on the radio to the Kentucky game in 1964. Hooked for life after that.

+Nine years old in 1947. We won. Didn't get to go to another game till the 1958 sugar bowl where we beat Clemson 7-0. After retiring from USAF and then getting season tickets in the east upper. Beating Tenn. in overtime in 2000. There were many more One bad was in 1970 in Vietnam losing to ND 3-0. But Tommy Hodson and Andy Hamilton avenging that loss the next year.
