I don't see the problem becoming a fan of a sport team to follow a favorite player. Why does this bother people?

Because old people want fans to be loyal to the team first, player second.

They’re more of a fan of the individual player than the team said individual players plays for. I would otherwise agree that this shouldn’t bother people, but MSB gonna MSB.

People aren't becoming Bengals fans though. They are just trashing the bengals because they want Burrow to be airdropped onto a team where he can win 15 super bowls and never face pocket pressure
