The more I hear this I think we'll just line up my mother/MIL to keep him. He's two so it's not like he'll remember it anyway. Sucks too bc i want to bring him. It was kind of an impromptu trip anyhow. We had lsu/Florida football tickets but the game was rescheduled for the following weekend so we made disney/universal plans instead. This way we won't have to worry about being harassed between the airlines and the parks.

Don't sweat it and bring him. They are nazi about it at the front gate, but very much relaxed about it inside the parks for all little ones in strollers. You might run into a rare nazi inside the park, but all you have to do is have the little guy put the thing on for 2 minutes until they walk away.
The mask, especially when 100+ degrees out, is horrible (and useless), but they have a lot of empty tables at closed food areas that you can sit and take maskless breaks at. We have annual passes and have been 4 times since they re-opened. So personal experience witnessing tons of 2-4 year olds given a pass if they were in strollers.
You can't get any pictures taken maskless is the biggest negative to bringing the little ones.
If you aren't stuck on Disney, there are other parks in the area, and they might love to spend a day at nearby Legoland. Legoland has much looser mask requirements, with under 8 not required to wear them. Adults only have to inside buildings. They've got some pretty awesome hotel/park deals too.
